Hacktoberfest Classic
This is the Hacktoberfest of yore but without all the spam and red tape. We are running Hacktoberfest Classic under the following guiding principles:
Don't forget to learn something
While it can be really rewarding having code or documentation you write get used by others, this is also a chance for you to learn and grow. Continued learning is one of the core philosphies at PHL Code Club, so be sure to try to get out of your comfort zone with some of your work.
Spam is for musubi, not Open Source
Hacktoberfest has a long and storied past with spam and low effort contributions. That is why we are focusing on "High quality, useful contributions."
Get to know one another
A huge part of open source software is the people you get to interact with! Use this time to make new friends or use our handy little website to find someone to pair program with. Get out there and chat with others!
